I picked this up at Well Worn Books today. (Great little store, by the way. You should stop by and check it out.)
I recall reading ART & FEAR back in 1999 or 2000. I believe an art director or fellow animator lent the book to me. It was highly recommended. I liked some of the book, the other parts I was (internally) disagreeing with the author.
Still, when I saw ART & FEAR on the bookshelf, I figured I'd give it another read.
I don't think that the art-making process has to be painful or fearful. Creating art should be a joy.
Also, when I first started working in the comic book industry, I soon discovered the solution to procrastination and creating art: Get off your bum, get to the drawing table and draw; OR you'll not be able to pay your bills as you starve. And who wants that?
