Today, my mailbox gave me my copy of Dave Sim’s SPAWN No. 10: REMASTERED & EXPANDED comic book.
I really enjoyed SPAWN #10 when it was first published. I was an avid reader of Dave’s CEREBUS comic book series. I was reading Todd MacFarlane’s SPAWN comic at the time, as well. Dave’s writing on this comic with the focus of comic book Creator’s Rights was a real joy to read for someone starting out in the comic book industry and who was quickly becoming very familiar with Creator’s Rights.
I was excited to learn that Dave was publishing an updated version of SPAWN #10. I had asked Dave if I could purchase a black-and-white version of the book.
SPAWN No. 10: REMASTERED & EXPANDED does not disappoint. Todd McFarlane’s artwork, without all of those pesky colors, is gorgeous. And Dave redrawing all of the Cerebus figures makes this new version even more spectacular.
